About Me

Fernando Cuestas is a New York based filmmaker and photographer. With over fifteen years of experience, he has worked on award winning independent films (both short and feature length) and in high fashion photography with such companies as Conde Nast China, Cirque Du Soleil, Apple Bottom Jeans, Hush Hush Entertainment, GQ Taiwan, and Vogue Taiwan. He has also provided casting and auditioning services for a variety of projects and in the process developed a great respect for anyone who puts him or herself in the spotlight. A native New Yorker, Fernando grew up in Queens and is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts.

A note from Fernando:

I respect and love working with actors. Actors breath life into what were once simply words on a sheet of paper. The entire creative process inspires me and I enjoy making a script or an idea come alive in film.

Selecting the right actor often begins with getting a sense of their character type through a headshot. As a performer, you may be just starting your career and have little experience, or you may have taken more performance classes than you can count, but if you don't have a headshot that will catch a casting director's eye and interest them enough to take a second look, the opportunity to show your talent will be lost. It takes less than a second to toss your picture to the rejection pile and the same amount of time to turn the photo over and look at your resume.

I've been on the casting side of the table and I know what to look for.  I'd like give you a better chance every time you send your headshot out.
